Surprisingly, I got an email this morning asking me to come back for a second interview this afternoon! They must want to move quickly. This time I also sat down with one of the office principals. She did a good job of being open and honest about the position and how the office dynamics worked. Like with most small offices I suppose, they are looking for someone willing to pick up what everyone else in the office is too busy to do and float between tasks, but more importantly – and what I found interesting – to be able to absorb/process/be critical of what they are being exposed to so that they are really familiar with the projects. I am now only 1/4 candidates for one of the two positions being offered. Yay for being shortlisted! I felt like this time the interview was more just trying to figure out my personality and willingness to do drafting and office admin. I do have mostly renderings/diagrams in my portfolio and there are plenty of other people out there with more concrete construction document work. I’ll find out Friday!
